Modern weddings are all about intentional elements. At SALT at Newport Shores, a collaborative team of Wisconsin wedding professionals created a celebration centered on texture, movement, and refined simplicity, all overlooking Lake Michigan. Sculptural florals, layered draping, contemporary stationery, and fashion-forward bridal looks came together in a palette of blush, matcha green, and warm neutrals, proving that understated colors can still make a bold design statement.

Stationery & Signage
Paperwhites designed a stationery suite in taupe, blush, muted teal, and matcha green. The suite included an invitation, details card, and RSVP, all wrapped in a printed vellum wrap and secured with a delicate pink ribbon. Visual elements included a custom couple monogram, organic, simple icons, line-floral motifs, and paired a high-contrast, capitalized font with a handwritten script.
Made & True brought the signage details throughout the design, creating a cohesive collection of pieces that complemented the modern matcha-inspired aesthetic. Their custom linen welcome sign and linen bar sign added soft texture and a natural element to the spaces, while stone table numbers brought an organic, dimensional detail to the reception tables. Acrylic signage was incorporated throughout the various scenes, carrying the clean, contemporary look across the celebration and tying the design elements together.
Bridal Hair & Makeup
Hair by Erin Marie and JB Beauty did hair and makeup for the bride models, respectively. First up was Andrea K out of Appleton, Wisconsin. Overall makeup was glamorous and glowing, though not overpowering, accentuating the eyes with dark lashes and sculpted brows, paired with soft tones on the cheeks and lips.
Both brides were styled with twisted up-dos, with Andrea K’s hair sitting slightly higher on her head than later model, Michele.
The Wedding Venue
SALT at Newport Shores is a stunning restaurant, wedding venue, and event venue located in Port Washington, Wisconsin. The venue boasts two levels to celebrate, on-site catering options, full bar service, and a scenic view of Lake Michigan. The venue has a clean white palette that fits any wedding style, plus floor-to-ceiling windows for abundant natural light and a refined, social atmosphere.
First Floor Reception Space
The first floor reception space began with a bottled salt favor wall that embraces the theme of the restaurant.
In addition to furniture and décor pieces already present at SALT at Newport Shores, this styled shoot included linens from BBJ La Tavola, rentals from Easy Breezey Bash Co, Canopies Events, and seating from Events by Design.
Many floral arrangements, centerpieces, and installations helped set the tone. The Flower Bar got creative with the floral components, beginning with a draping piece at the bar. Prominent blooms included tulips, roses, anthurium, lisianthus, ranunculus, hydrangea, and more. Other notable pieces included mosses, tall grasses, artichokes, and green grapes.
The color palette of matcha green, pale pink, and white, with gold accents, carried through every part of the tablescape design. Guest tables were draped in green tablecloths and placed with gold-rimmed plates, pink-tinted glassware, gold flatware, glowing candles, floral centerpieces, and pale pink linens folded into roses. Stone table numbers completed the décor.
A sweetheart table was set for the couple, adorned with a blush tablecloth and draped backdrop.
Wedding Fashions
Bon Bon Belle selected two distinct dresses for the models, each highlighting current wedding fashion trends. Andrea’s dress played with texture and unexpected details, including delicate lace peeking out from the sweetheart neckline and sewn into a high slit in the skirt. The A-line dress also featured off-the-shoulder sleeves, a wrapped bodice, and a skirt with a full train.
She accessorized with two different veils throughout the spaces: a colorful, embroidered, cathedral-length veil, and a fingertip-length tulle veil in the outdoor photos.
The second model, Michele, wore a lacy, strapless gown, also from Bon Bon Belle. This fit-and-flare dress featured luxurious fabric, a corset with exposed boning, and a full lace train. She accessorized with a fingertip tulle veil with delicately beaded edges, a necklace, and beaded drop earrings.
Her groom wore a classic black tuxedo with a satin lapel, black dress shoes, a white undershirt with black buttons, a white pocket square, and a floral boutonniere.
Fourth Floor Patio, Bar, & Dance Floor
For the second half of the styled shoot, the team stepped outside to enjoy some fresh, lakeside views, first on the first floor, then up to the fourth patio. Just steps away from a bar and cocktail tables, the fourth floor space is perfect for a ceremony, lounge, cocktail hour, lots of dancing–and bubbles!
The Flower Bar designed unique, monochromatic blush bouquets for the brides. The first included pale pink hyacinth with hanging amaranthus, and was tied with a pink tassel ribbon. The second bouquet was composed solely of pink parrot tulips, expertly tied to be held or draped gracefully over the arm.
Wedding Cake
SALT at Newport Shores baked a modern, single-layer wedding cake that spanned over two feet across. The rectangular cake was decorated with textured white frosting, and lined with white candles for the couple to blow out. A green, draped backdrop helped the dessert table pop and made for a beautiful contrast to the white cake.
Wedding Favors
As a final, whimsical detail, Easy Breezy Bash Co showcased their rentable vending machine. Their vending machines can vend stickers, temporary tattoos, pressed flowers, and more, making them perfect for guest favors and activities for all ages.
