Abbie and Colton’s stylish Milwaukee rooftop wedding featured heartfelt details, champagne tones, their two dogs, and a surprise tequila unity toast. With cityscape views, a pearl-detailed gown, and a joyful celebration at Vista MKE, their big day was modern, personal, and full of love.
Abbie and Colton’s meet-cute was right out of a rom-com. Connected through friends of friends, they immediately hit it off while on separate vacations in Florida. Amidst the whirlwind, they both knew this budding romance was something special and committed to continuing to see each other, even long-distance. Within the year, Abbie and her beloved poodle-mix dog moved across the state, where they seamlessly blended into a household of four–also including Colton’s poodle-mix dog (and the dogs are now best friends!).

When it came to selecting a venue, choosing a location easily accessible for guests who would be traveling was crucial. Abbie and Colton also chose Milwaukee, in part, because of all the activities and fun opportunities the city has to offer. They hoped their guests would make a weekend of the occasion and explore the sites before and after the big day.

Their venue, Vista MKE, was located right in the heart of Milwaukee, with the couple’s outdoor ceremony overlooking the cityscape. Abbie wore her great-grandmother’s ring, a family heirloom, for the day, and her aunt officiated the wedding. The couple’s two dogs were also included in photos, as well as a special walk down the aisle.

During the ceremony, Abbie and Colton surprised their guests by taking tequila shots as their own personal spin on a unity ceremony. Abbie reflected on the moment, “It was super funny seeing everyone’s reactions, people were talking about it all night!”

Annika Frame Photography captured the day, from the getting-ready photos, to beautiful sunset portraits, to the reception and party that concluded the night. The couple wanted their wedding day to feel fun for their friends and family, so Annika Frame Photography helped organize poses and compositions that captured movement, candid moments, personality, and joy.
About their vendor team, the bride said, “I attribute our seamless day to all our vendors, I genuinely believe we had the BEST team. They all worked so well together and made sure everything went smoothly.”

For her first look, Abbie wore an elegant floor-length fit-and-flare gown with button detailing, off-the-shoulder sleeves, and a pearl-encrusted veil. Her hairstylist, Black Orchid Beauty, styled her hair into a soft, low ponytail with artful pearls and loose face-framing pieces.
Her bridesmaids wore satin, champagne colored gowns in unique silhouettes and glowing makeup. Colton and his groomsmen kept their fashion sharp, classic, and a little casual, all wearing black suits, white undershirts, and floral boutonnieres. They skipped ties or bow ties entirely and added unexpected accessories, such as patterned socks. Colton also incorporated his personal style into his wedding attire by choosing sneakers over dress shoes.

Florist Amanda Kate Designs kept the bouquet and floral arrangements simple and refined. The decor and bridesmaids’ bouquets were only baby’s breath. Abbie’s bouquet was similarly monochromatic, but also included white orchids and roses.
