Velvet & Lace: Vintage Luxury Wedding Inspiration at The Fitzgerald

Old-world character met contemporary wedding design in this luxurious editorial at The Fitzgerald. Drawing inspiration from European romance, heirloom textures, and dramatic floral artistry, the design balances softness with bold statement pieces to create a sophisticated atmosphere.

This stunning styled shoot was brought to life through planning and coordination by Indigo Moon Events, who brought together a team of expert local vendors to align with their vision. Located in Milwaukee, The Fitzgerald blends old-world charm with modern amenities. The day began in the private bridal suite, with plenty of room for hair and makeup, and for beautiful photos set against the space’s gold-foiled wallpaper and vintage furniture. Later, the tablescape and backdrops were set up outside on The Fitzgerald’s patio.

A stationery suite by Iris Designs helped set the tone for the styled shoot. They worked with a color palette of dark olive green, burgundy, and white, harmonizing vintage patterns with modern typography. The suite included a layered invitation tied with a green bow, RSVP cards, and accompanying envelopes. Additional print pieces by Iris Designs included a linen welcome sign, linen table numbers, and menus at the place settings.

Melissa Waulters Artistry and Ms Lauryn Marie teamed up for hair and makeup, respectively. The first model, Addison, was styled with loose, Hollywood-worthy waves and accessorized with a vintage lace-edge, cathedral-length tulle veil from Karla Roble.

Ms Lauryn Marie specializes in bronzed, glowy, glamorous bridal looks. Isabelle wore warm foundation, rouged cheeks, feathered brows, and a rosy, contoured lip. Ms Lauryn Marie played with glow and highlighter, also including a shimmery eyeshadow and dark lash combination.

For the first model, Bon Bon Belle Bridal Boutique selected a strapless drop-waist ballgown with a sweetheart neckline, beaded corset, and a full satin skirt. The corset fell just at Isabelle’s hip, creating a modern twist on the traditional basque waist ballgown.

The second model, Isabelle, wore a twist on a traditional bridal up-do. Her hair was swept to the side and back into a low bun, with a wavy, face-framing piece flowing asymmetrically to one side. Her makeup was also warm and glowing, accentuating the apple of her cheeks.

Also from Bon Bon Belle Bridal Boutique, her gown highlighted some of this year’s hottest bridal trends. The fit-and-flare dress featured a full lace overlay, a cat-eye neckline, exposed boning, a basque waist, a full train, and was accessorized with a skinny scarf.

In addition to the on-site pieces at The Fitzgerald, drapery from Dream House Events, furniture rentals from Vintique Rental and Parker Driver Event Co., and linens from BBJ La Tavola came together to create a sophisticated, upscale setting on the patio.

Dream House Events showcased two of their backdrop offerings: a royal-worthy green velvet backdrop and a clean white ceremony setting, highlighting florals by Sage Floral LLC.

The floral arrangements mixed garden flowers with bold tropical elements, adding a summer feel to an otherwise cooler color palette. Prominent blooms included garden roses, orchids, calla lilies, anthurium, white hydrangea, dahlias, Queen Anne’s lace, and green & burgundy amaranthus. The florals were surrounded by fruit and greenery, including purple and green grapes, monstera, Italian ruscus, seeded eucalyptus, curly willow, and ornamental grasses.

Glowing candles and natural textures took center stage at the tablescapes, which included a long guest table and a sweetheart table. Place setting included scalloped white plates, burgundy glass chargers, smoky crystal glassware, gold silverware, sage green candles, gold candleabras, pearls, and green tea candles.

Kindred Bakeshop provided a show-stopping, three-tier cake that paired sculptural heights with beautifully textured finishes. The cake was adorned with florals and fruit, surrounded by pearl beading, and displayed alongside fruit arrangements and a grandiose green bow.
